Richard Sanderson and a Richard Sanderson Esqr. listed on several of the Currituck Tax Records (1696-1718) with an indication that Richard Sanderson Esqr. paid the taxes on the estate of the elder Richard in 1718. Some records show them as Sr. and Jr. The property was located in the Powells Point area of the county during that period. Powells Point took up much of the lower half of the county. Between the two Richard Sandersons, they had about 2100 acres each in 1718. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
