Although I live in Michigan, we have spent our vacations on OBX for 17 years, long before I realized my Fanshawes were from Currituck :) The bridge from the mainland to Corolla has been under (sometimes heated!) debate for at least 5 years. My impression is that the only people in favor of the bridge are the Corolla residents, the rest of the OBX residents are opposed. I'll be in OBX next week for a wedding, and then again in August. The opposition to the bridge used to be pretty strong, I wonder if something has changed. I'll see what I can find out next week.
