My grandmother was orphaned and taken in by a woman named Ida Poyner I believe. My father said he believed her name was Poynter, but since I've been doing research it may be in face Poyner. Anyway. My grandmothers name was Catherine Flanigan, born in 1903 in Hickory, NC. She was orphaned by the yellow fever epidemic that happened there? in the early 1900's. This is the story told by both my father and uncle. She was supposedly raised in Barco, of Rt. 168. She married my grandfather Ralph O'Donnell. I don't have any other dates; sorry about that. If anyone has any information please, please let me know as I can find absolutely nothing on Catherine. Many, many thanks in advance. Kathleen, Where and in what year were your father and uncle born and their names. Where and in what year did Ralph and Catherine die and where were they buried? Did Ralph go by Ralph or Ray? Where and when did they marry? MARY ANN
