Julia, I know a little about the Woodhouse family - Mary's side. I am sure that she was related to John Woodhouse of Currituck County. He was a Captain in the Militia. The websites _www.rootsweb.com_ (http://www.rootsweb.com) _www.mindspring.com_ (http://www.mindspring.com) _www.ncgenweb.us_ (http://www.ncgenweb.us) all have information on Captain John Woodhouse's militia information and tax records, they might be of some help to you - on the Woodhouse side anyway. My ancestors John Love, Thomas Love, and a few more Loves, were from Currituck County in the late 1600s and up to about 1760. Since, the population of the county was very small in that time frame, John Woodhouse and your Mary had to be related. Hope this is of some help. First, I want to thank all of you who helped me with my research on Jonathan Jarvis, orphaned in 1717 and especially, Marty Holland, who pointed me to the documents that prove that he was the son of Richard Jarvis and possible brother to Henry Jarvis. Now, I am searching for the origins of Joseph Gray who married Mary Woodhouse about 1775. Has anyone researched this line? There are Grays in Pasquotank who look promising, but I can't find a Will or any document to tie them to Joseph Gray of Currituck. Any help would be appreciated.
