It cost just about as much to rent them from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as it did to buy them. I ordered them on-line from the NC Archives at about $6 per reel. The microfilming leaves a lot to be desired but it is certainly better than nothing. I am in the process of trying to buy a used microfilm reader so I don't have to go to the library and wait for a reader.
