Hi Roberta and others,     My name is Donna Flora O'Malley.  I've been a lurker on this list for many years.  I am very interested in the Lost Colony and Hatteras Island projects.  One of the Lost Colonists was Charles FLORRIE. ( http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~ncflora/ )   There were numerous FLOWER/FLORES/FLOURE/FLURRY in the Jamestown/Tidewater VA area in the 1600's.  There is some speculation that these (and other inhabitants of Jamestown/Tidewater) were descendants of the Lost Colonists looking for their relatives. These inhabitants most likely ended up in the Currituck County. I have documented roots in Currituck County as early as 1738 through Lazarus FLOWER. I have a weak link in this ancestry in 1850, but I am 90% confident that the link is correct.    ( http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~florey/lazarus.html ) I have been trying to connect Lazarus FLOWER to his ancestors for years with no luck.   If anyone can help me shed some light on this part of my history, I would love the assistance.  I would also love to help where I can with the Lost Colony/Hatteras project.
