I interpreted this entry to mean that Manloff R. Gregory, born 9 Oct 1800 in Currituck County, and was the son of Thomas Gregory and his second wife, Bettie Toller. Another entry: Mary Gregory, b. 4 Jan 1811, Currituck Co., daughter of Thos., and Bettie; and Mary was the wfe of N.N Rodgers. Another entry: 8 Jan 1790, Gregory, spence H. s/ Thomas, 1/ Dirctor (Hall); husband of Lovey Jasper, Currituck Co. Then scroll down to this double entry: DAR Gregory, Thomas 1759-1843; husband of Director Hall, (1st) of North Carolina; DAR Gregory, Thomas 1759/1843; husband of Toller, Bettie (2nd), Currituck Co. There are other entries in regards to this family, but I think that the ones listed above, give evidence that Thomas Gregory had two wives, and with each of his wives, he had children. I think that this site contains much family information. Cathy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Cathy, the web site you have in this email is for the rootsweb page with our queries. Did you mean to reference another site? I can't find any mention of a Bettie Toller in either of the two sites you referenced in your previous email. In fact a search of the surname index doesn't even list a Thomas Gregory? http://homepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~livcomo/Pioneers/names27.htm#GREGORY some how, we must be looking at two different web pages. A source of proof is not what someone writes in a web page but an actual document such as a will, deed, deed of gift, obituary, marriage bond or license, bastard bond; orphan bond; court proceeding, etc. If there is any source, I don't see it but then I can't find a Bettie Toller in the web site you referenced either. Please verify this is the source you intended to reference. ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <nccurrit-l@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, May 25, 2009 6:27 PM Subject: Re: [NCCURRIT] Confusion with Thomas Gregory 1759-1844 > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: CathyGirgen > Surnames: Gregory, Toller, Hall > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.northcarolina.counties.currituck/1423.2.1.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Jean, > > On the website: > http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.usa.states.northcarolina.counties.currituck/1423.2.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx > > Scroll down to the name: Gregory, Manloff R. s/Thos., 2.Bettie (Toller). > > I interpreted this entry to mean that Manloff R.
