    2. Hi Jean, All I have is speculation. Lemuel Woodhouse mentioned his Uncle, Thomas Taylor, in his Will. I have checked in every way that I can to see how Thomas could be his uncle and the only way that I can figure is that he was the brother of Lemuel's mother. That would make her a Taylor. The daughter was named, Mary, so her mother may have been Mary Taylor. Of course, she could be been name after her grandmother if Elizabeth were not her grandmother, but John's second wife. Sorry I can't be of more help. I wish I knew. Julia In a message dated 1/29/2010 4:16:05 P.M. Central Standard Time, jfstms@bellsouth.net writes: Do you have the name of Mary's mother? 1. Re: [NCCURRIT] Father of Joseph Gray, m. Mary Woodhouse
    2. Hi Terry, Thanks, but I have the Woodhouse line, back to England. I have joined the Jamestowne Society on the line. John Woodhouse was Mary's father. He names her in his Will as Mary Sanderson. She was, first, married to Lemuel Sanderson and, second, to Joseph Gray. John Woodhouse's son, Lemuel Woodhouse named her as his sister, Mary Gray. I have lots of data on many of the connecting lines if I can help anyone, let me know. It is Joseph Gray that has me stumped. There was a Richard and a Thomas in Pasquotank and a Thomas, later, in Currituck who could be Joseph Gray's father. Joseph named his eldest son, Thomas, but I can't find any Wills, deeds, etc. that prove Thomas was the father of Joseph Gray. Julia In a message dated 1/4/2010 12:44:42 P.M. The Charles L. Perkins born 1867 is a Charles Lucius Perkins (the casket maker married to Buena Vista). Mine is Charles Lloyd Perkins. The birth years are confusing me too. The Charles L. in the 1900 Census of Moyock must be my Charles Lloyd Perkins because there is his wife Georgia Pippett (or Peppitt) married 1895 and son Willie F. Perkins b. Feb. 1896, and Eva L. Perkins Jan. 1899 who married Andrew W. Maynard, followed by infant Perkins, Thomas Morecock Perkins, Sr. b. Aug 7, 1900 (born John Thomas Perkins) who married Laura Sidney Tinsley 06-01-25 in East Palatka, FL, and Mary Perkins born 1905 who married Hark. Why is Charles birthday listed as Oct. 1868 here? I don't know. For another child to be born after Eva (b. Jan. 1899) and before Thomas (Aug. 7, 1900), there would have had to be an immediate pregnancy after Eva's birth, which is possible but more likely to have been between Willie and Eva rather than Eva and Thomas. In the 1910 census that is my Charles Lloyd Perkins age 37 (so the birth year is 1872 which is close to the date I have of Nov. 11, 1873 (I think my cousin had this information). I have the marriage certificate of Charles and Goldie Ewell, age 18. His age is listed as 36 as of May 31, 1909. The clerk wrote her father's name incorrectly as "Slotman C. Ewell", mother Ellen Ewell, resident Princess Anne Co., VA. Thank you for finding out that the name is Solomon Curl Ewell b. 02-15-1862 and Mary E. (Ellen) Davis d. 09-11-1894. Charles and Goldie were married June 1, 1909 at Knotts Island in Fruitville Township. Witnesses A. W. Whitson of Woodleigh NC, M. V. Waterman of Knott's Island, and C. R. Fentress. Can you look up the marriage certificate for Charles and Georgia? It could be in Currituck Co. NC or VA or possibly Norfolk. Thanks for your help.
