Lenoir Co, Kinston, NC: "Introduction to Genealogy Course" moderated by Jo Ann Eubank Huettl, President of the Heritage Genealogical Society which serves Greene, Jones, and Lenoir Counties, May 16th to Jun 27, 2016 on Mondays from 6 pm to 9 pm. The Six Week of Classes will be held at Lenoir Community College as part of their Continuing Education Programs. It is $50 per person for the entire course. Interested in learning more about your family history? Discover your roots by joining the next "Introduction to Genealogy Course." This six-week course will cover the fundamental building blocks of genealogy research. Students will learn effective techniques, genealogy tools, and software programs that will not only assist with research, but also organize and preserve information. Course Outline: 1. Introduction to Genealogy, Jo Eubank Huettl 2. Introduction to Heritage Place, To Be Announced 3. Researching Burned Counties, Roger Kammerer 4. Software and Online Web Sites, Norman Adkins 5. Researching Military Ancestors, Jane Gradeless Phillips 6. Migration Patterns/Maps, Dennis E. Jones Pre-registration is required. Must be 16 years of age or older.
