    1. Re: [NCCUMBER] Shaw, McCraine, Thompson, Kelly, McIver, CLARK
    2. Yipes....so Buffalo Presbyterian is in Lee Co?? This part of the Buffalo Creek - is it even close to Cumberland, or would anyone know why someone would have left Lee/Moore Co and married in Cumberland in 1822.....just wondering if it was a county change, or if one town was just closer than the other? Sorry....perhaps I should be posting in the Moore or Lee Co? Thanks. ~ Mary Yes, Lee was formed out of Moore in 1907. Moore was formed out of Cumberland in 1784. In 1855, Harnett County was formed out of Cumberland, and was adjacent to Lee. (Today, in going from Cumberland County to Lee County, one must go through Harnett.) In a previous email, there was mention of Daniel Roderick McIver. >>Catherine who married Daniel Roderick McIver, son of Little John and Mary >McIver The McIvers were of Moore County and were members of Buffalo Presbyterian Church. I don't know where Catherine Clark was from, but by 1822, Daniel would not have had to go far, perhaps over the line in what is now Harnett County to have married Catherine. (If that is who you are talking about.) James Van Comer has done extensive research on Moore County, and wrote a booklet about Buffalo Church. I am not sure of the name of the book, but I think it was "Bountiful Legacy of a Mother". Hope this helps, Cornelia
