Were Beaverdam Presbyterian Church and Buffalo Presbyterian Church the same church? No. Buffalo Presbyterian Church is in present Lee County, previously Moore County. Buffalo was the Mother Church of successive churches in Moore County. Established in the 1790s, I think. Beaverdam is in Cumberland County. Cornelia
Yipes....so Buffalo Presbyterian is in Lee Co?? This part of the Buffalo Creek - is it even close to Cumberland, or would anyone know why someone would have left Lee/Moore Co and married in Cumberland in 1822.....just wondering if it was a county change, or if one town was just closer than the other? Sorry....perhaps I should be posting in the Moore or Lee Co? Thanks. ~ Mary ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 01, 2007 1:05 PM Subject: Re: [NCCUMBER] Shaw, McCraine, Thompson, Kelly, McIver, CLARK > > Were Beaverdam Presbyterian Church and Buffalo Presbyterian Church the > same church? > No. Buffalo Presbyterian Church is in present Lee County, previously > Moore > County.
