I am aware of Barbecue Presbyterian Church on Barbecue Creek near the Lee/Harnett County Line (can't remember just which county the church is in. But I'm not aware of Buffalo Creek and Buffalo Presbyterian Church. This is the title page of James Vann Comer's book................ THE BOUNTIFUL LEGACY OF A MOTHER BUFFALO PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH Buffalo Community / Sanford, North Carolina (1797 -1997) Researched and Compiled by James Vann Comer Cornelia All of those counties were formed from Cumberland County, I believe. I have roots in both Moore and Harnett County (east and west of southern Lee County) - strong Presbyterian roots beginning about 1754. I've been away from the area in my adulthood, but these postings have raised a question in my mind. Clark's Bridge in Harnett County where Clarks in the Argyll groups settled in 1739 is in Harnett County not very far from Barbecue Church which was the first Presbyterian Church organized in that area (about the same time as Longstreet Presbyterian, located in the Fort Bragg Reservation, and Bluff, on the east side of the Cape Fear River in Cumberland County. The postings the last few days seem to fit Barbecue?: Which is correct? Lib McPherson Steve E. wrote: > Donnie and Mary, > > Do you know what John McPherson married the Flora Kelly?
