My Colin Shaw came to Cumberland County, NC from the Isle of Jura, Scotland, about 1744. He married Marron McCraney, daughter of Murdock McCraney, of the Isle of Jura, Scotland. There were many McCraney families and Shaw families who settled in the area. There was a Malcolm McCrainey born in Scotland (possibly Jura) about 1748. Emingrated to America from Jura about 1802. My Robinson line begins with the second wife of Washington Irving Shaw (greatgrandson of Colin Shaw), b. 1848, who married Mary Graham Robinson, b. 1846. They lived in Sampson County. Grammie was the daughter of Daniel Robinson, b. 1817, and Hannah Caroline Lamb, b. 1826. Daniel Robinson was the son of Duncan Robinson, b. 1771, in Scotland and Mary Sillars, b. 1783.
