Hi Billie, Thank you for the information. My SHAW ancestors were in Cumberland Co., NC before 1750 as evidenced by the Estate papers following the death of John SHAW. Three brothers, John, Duncan and Dushee SHAW migrated from Jura, I believe. It is most likely that their father was Neil SHAW. Duncan had no children. There were descendents from John and Dushee (my ancestor). I'm sure the McCraney listed in the 1850 Haywood Co. TN household census for Malcom SHAW was a family relative. I just can't prove it. I have seen many records of Colin SHAW, and, since they all came from Jura, our SHAW families are probably related. Best wishes, Cora [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: Billie Powell <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2007 11:05 PM Subject: [NCCUMBER] Shaw, McCraney, Robinson > My Colin Shaw came to Cumberland County, NC from the Isle of Jura, Scotland, about 1744. Cora, Do you have a DUSHEE SHAW born about 1792 NC that went to TX? Believe this is the Dushee Shaw that was bondsman for JAMES RENFROW who married EDITH GILBERT 1814 in Cumberland CO., NC. By chance do you have any RENFROW/GILBERT/PYLANT or JONES crossing your SHAW line in Cumberland CO., NC.? Do you have a OLIVE RENFROW (married name) who married a SHAW?
