    3. This is a response to Betty Lee Streckfuss. Betty, if you need a copy of this petition, it would be helpful if you knew the year that it was recorded and go to the General Assembly Records at the NC Archives. These are in fiberboard boxes with folders that have broad divisions such as petitions, war records, etc. There are so many of these that without more specific information it would be very time consuming to pour through all of them until you hit the right one. I'm not sure if there is any kind of index that would speed this up or not, but that may be why you haven't received a reply for your request. If the library doesn't have a copy of this, a private researcher may be your best bet. Good Luck.
