I would like to find out more about the John Smith who's wife, Margaret McGilchrist, died as they were going up the Cape Fear River. He was the father of Jennie Bahn Smith. There were soo many John Smith's. Did he remarry? How do I know which is the John Smith I am researching.? And when did he die? Thank you. Lois Haile (http://www.rootsweb.com/~jecain/smit030.htm)

    1. MUNN, Alexander
    2. I'm researching the MUNN family and would love to hear from others doing the same. My Alexander MUNN, a United Empire Loyalist during the American Revolution, was born in Scotland and lived in Wake County before moving to Cumberland County, where he is listed in the 1790, 1800, and 1810 censuses. Apparently his wife was named Flora, and they had at least three children: Flora, Daniel (b. 1790, Fayette), and Neill (b. 1792, Fayette). Our line of descent is through Neill, who moved to Fayette County, Texas, and died there in 1842. I have lots of info from this point forward, but not much before this. Anyone else researching the MUNN family? Debra Munn

    1. McNeill, Daniel
    2. I know my Daniel Mc Neill was born in Cumberland [many sources but first was his funeral card from 1861 which said he was born Cross Creek NC] they moved early to now Southern Pines area where he was the Sheriff of Moore Co as was his presumed brother. In 1860 he was in Holly Springs Miss where he died. from 1799 to 1829 to 1860 is a black hole of nothing <G> He seems to have stayed in Moore Co but I can't prove that either. Buddy Blue connects the Daniel who married Julia Farish with Danie and Sarah McKay Mc Neill but there is no proof. eliz
