    2. This info is from 3 volume set of Books by John C. Rosser, Jr on the Will iams Family of Sampson and Cumberland Counties title: Coharie to Cape Fear, The Descendents of John Williams and Katherine Galbreath of Sampson and Cumberland Counties in NC (1740-1990) That Neil Galbreth, the father of the wives of Hugh Bain and John Williams, was the progenitor of all Sampson and Cumberland County Galbreths is certainly to be doubted, but not yet disproved, because of the appearance after 1753 of several Galbreths in Cumberland County: Angus who patented 200 acres in 1753 and whose will is dated 8 Nov. 1786 (a Neil Galbreth, possibly not his son, is a witness to his will), Nevin who patented 1650 acres and whose will is dated 16 Nov 1780 (the same Neil Galbreth witness his will) Duncan who patented 300 acres on Black River and whose will is dated 22 March 1802, Peter who patented 360 acres on Black River and whose will is dated 15 Oct 1805, Neil who patented 200 acres on Black River in 1771, went to Moores Creek with General McDonald and was captured there, later escaping and joining the British Army, John who with his brother Duncan patented 940 acres in 1774, Daniel who patented 80 acres on Black River in 1773, and Archibald who patented 940 acres on Black River. Blood and clan ties may well have existed between many of these from Scotland. states source of info from book by Dr. J.P. MacLean, An Historical Account of the Settlements of Scotch Highlanders in America prior to the Peace of 1783 and Sampson County estate paper files, NC State Archives.. Also found this from Raleigh register 1809 Marriage Notice John Galbreath of Tenn. to Grisella Galbreath of Cumberland Co. April 6, Cumberland Co. RR April 20, 1809 don't know if Grisella moved to Tenn with John, the marriages back then always took place in the brides place of residence more wills: 1802 Duncan Colbraith, Effie (wife) Barbara. there is will dated 1783 Cumberland Co for Neven Colraith (no Abstract for this will) and one for 1815 Catherine Galbreath ( no abstract for this one either) Hope this helps. Helen

I really have not research the Wilson connection.
