    3. Hi Julia, I pulled my copies from two books, looking for the surname RENFROW. Afraid it's not going to help you. From "Lumber River Scots and Their Descendants," by Angus Wilson McLean, pp. 478-481 & 490-493, there is information about the Dushee SHAW who moved to Texas, and I will copy a paragraph for you. I did not find the name RENFROW in these pages. I also have a copy of the Table of Contents from "Shaw Family of Bladen County and Southeastern North Carolina" by Floriedel Kennedy Bristow, and I didn't find the name RENFROW. Both of my copies were made from books which had not been microfilmed at the LDS Salt Lake City Library. Recently, Brigham Young University has been scanning books in the library, and the digital images are available on-line. I send the webaddress for their site: http://www.lib.byu.edu/fhc I haven't checked to see if these two books have been scanned. >From "Lumber River Scots..." p. 492: II. Effie Gilchrist Effie Gilchrist, the second daughter and second child of Angus Gilchrist and Margaret McKay, was born November 30, 1801, and died about 1886 or 1887. She was buried in the old McKay Cemetery near Marshall, Texas. She married Dushee Shaw, a brother of Agnes Shaw, who married Hector McKay. His mother was a Buie. All of the children of this marriage were born in North Carolina, but the entire family moved to Tennessee about the same time that Hator McKay did. They then moved to Texas also with the McKays. There were nine children:" This Dushee SHAW was the brother-in-law of my ancestor, Malcolm SHAW. In Malcolm's will ( in Haywood County, TN in the 1850s) he states that the money owed him by the Dushee SHAW who went to Texas should go to his wife if the debt were ever paid. Malcolm's second (or third?) wife was his cousin, Margaret SHAW, sister to Agnes and Dushee. Their mother was Rebecca BUIE. It is funny that I sent the link to all my correspondents including rootsweb lists and I _never_ once gained access to the pages.-----LOL--- Fran > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > NCCUMBER-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
