1. [NCCUMBER] EZZELL and WEST
    2. Fran
    3. I have a partial record showing John R. WEST married Amanda EZZLE/EZZELL. I would like to know if that is accurate, when and where did they marry? When and where did Amanda EZZELL WEST die? Also, I have record that John R. WEST next married a PRIDGEN whose given name I do not know. I would like to have the date and place of marriage for John R. and unknown PRIDGEN as well as dates and places of death for both John R. and his PRIDGEN wife. Thanks.

    2. I had Family TreeMaker New Version 7.0. A friend downloaded it for me several years ago. Dallas shared his information with me and i shared mine with him. I know I had more information on Sarah but just can't remember it. Maybe I still have it in my notes some where. Have a blessed day. 3. My GGGrandfather, William H. PLUMMER received a letter in 1877 from the husband of his sister, Margaret: Isaac Hollingsworth posted in Fayetteville, NC. William H. Plummer b. 1813 NC may have been born there. He married Mary Lavinia Jones in 1846 of Dallas Co., AL and moved to Lauderdale Co., MS where many descendants remain. Their children were: Sarah Jane Plummer, Mary "Mollie" BUTLER Plummer, William Thomas Plummer and John Frankline Plummer. The BUTLER name may have been associated with the PLUMMER name earlier. When were the Plummers in Cumberland Co.? I think they came down from Warren Co., NC. I would like to compare notes with anyone interested! 3. Velta, Sorry I was so long in getting back to you but with taxes and family problems it's been a really wild time. I cannot find a connection to your John Ray. That doesn't mean that there isn't one but the records from back then were very skimpy at best. The only John Ray marrying a Gillis back in the 1800's was my gggguncle who married Elvina Gillis in June of 1841. My grandmother was Margaret Rebecca Gillis who married my grandfather Marshall Gilbert Ray in 1905. There's a lot of tales about both Ray's and Gillis' moving to the states that you mentioned in the 1800's so I'm sure we're connected even though the connection isn't apparent. She supposedly was born in Scotland approx 1798; married John McPherson, emergrated to Cumberland Co., NC., had 5 boys and one girl, died young. All her children moved to Ala. She and her husband stayed in NC.. Would appreciate any information you have on her, if any It appears there is no connection between the Luke Bowen family you mention and Rebecca, but it could be. Thanks! My Bowens were in America before 1700 so unless there were some other brothers or sisters I'm not sure there is a connection. I have not traced them back over the big water. Looks like the first ones were in MD in 1630. Sure would like to find connections.

One first name would be Angus. This is an old Bladen county name. In about 1964-65 (remembering) some of this family held a sit in at the gates to Fort Bragg claiming their relative old Angus was not paid for land that now is part of Fort Bragg. I don't know when he lived. I do know that I thought this was crazy for a family to try to get money out of the government for somet hing a long dead uncle owned. I do know that they did get a settlement as one very distant relative of old Angus got $312. Many years later I found that my husbands line was in Bladen county and he did not get a nickel.(grin) His closest grandfather left Bladen in the 1780's. It just would be fun to know where the land was. Kay Russ Andress

**************************************
Check out free AOL at http://free.aol.com/thenewaol/index.adp.
