I am researching Dr. Ezekiel Ezra Smith, principal of the Fayetteville Normal School from about 1885 to 1933.He was married to Willie Burnett and then Nannie Smith and had a son that I dont have a name for. Ezekiel was born in Faison, Duplin County, around 1852, and some accounts say he was a free man and others say he was a slave. He also pastored a church and was appointed Consul General to Liberia in the late 1800s and also served in the Spanish American war. He had a brother or nephew (varying accounts) named Allen Smith who lived in Mt. Olive and Goldsboro. Any information on this Smith family would be appreciated. Gladys
Can anyone give me an up dated email for Keith Raynor who has listed several listing like marriage and cem. records for Cumberland Co. Raynor's. Thanks, Donna

Does anyone have Mr. Alexander McDonald in his family tree - born around 1785, wife is Mary, children include Archibald born 1823, Richard born 1833, Edith born 1836 - among others. I've seen versions of this tree on a couple of different gensites - don't know how authentic they are. But, my big question is: who are Alexander's parents and from where in Scotland does this family originate? Thanks from Debbie

I wonder if any Williams researchers in Randolph Co has a Williams married to Caroline or Carolyn Medley/Medlin after 1870. I have a lost Medley/Medlin sister that I think may have married a Williams in Randolph Co. My father was born a Williams but was adopted, and NC records are not open. He was born around Sept, 1914. Does anyone know of a Williams who lived in Greensboro NC about that time and worked for the Southern Railroad? To my knowledge, the estate records are not available online. The original documents are on file in the NC Archives. Some counties (Genealogical Societies) have abstracted the records and placed them online, but I don't know if Cumberland has do so. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jr. Hi "Yall" To: Linda Allred Cooper Sent: Wednesday, March 10, 2004 9:58 AM Subject: Re: [NCCUMBER] Estate Record Do you know if we can look at the records online?
