    2. Could it be possible that the given name of BEAMAN was actually a surname of ancestors? BEAMAN is a surname from Johnston County, NC. (My STRICKLAND line married into the Beamans.) 1. [NCCUMBER] Duncan P. WEST (1815 - 1859)
    2. I am having trouble researching the ancestry of Duncan P. West and his wife, Eliza Jane Bramble. Here is what I know about them: The family appears in the 1850 Cumberland County census as follows: Duncan P. WEST 35 M Farmer Eliza 35 F William 10 M Arthur M 7 M Barbara A 5 F George W 3 M I also know of one more child, Sarah Margaret WEST born 1850. I have some additional details on these children if that helps. Duncan and Eliza Jane were married on 28 Aug 1839 in Cumberland County. I know this family appears in the book "The Wests of the Cape Fear Valley" with no information about their ancestry. If anyone can shed some light on this for me, I would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Stacy Guy

They visit Scotland from time to time and are originally (about 4 generations from Skye) he is Robert Lawrence McLeod, III after father, Jr, and grandfather, Sr. and he believes his gr. grandfather was Daniel. He is a busy young man and I don't know if he wants to pursue this right now but since I am DAR from my Mason line I can't help but get interested for my granddaughters sake when I see "McLeod, NC" which is where my line came in from England, about 1640.
