HANNIBAL BADHAM, SR. (1845-1918), carpenter, black, b-Chowan. Badham was the son of MYLES BADHAM. A Myles Badham, perhaps Hanibal's father, was a slave (owned by JAMES C. JOHNSTON) who worked on the construction of Hayes [Plantation] in 1815-1817. Three sons of HANNIBAL BADHAM, SR. were also carpenters: HANNIBAL,JR. (1879-1941); MILES (1877-1925); WILLIAM (b.ca. 1871).
