Since she married in 1850, I can't find a trail backwards since children weren't listed in earlier censuses. However, looking at the NC indices and the marriage records of Chowan county, I have determined (though not proven) that the Blanchards listed in the 1850 census in Chowan were from one family as follows: Father (????): William Blanchard m. Celia Hurdle on Nov 26, 1807 Children (????): Micajah Blanchard m. Eliz Walton on Feb 14, 1823 Josiah Blanchard m Sarah Hurdle on Jun 16, 1824 Reuben Blanchard m Mary H. Lyons on Jul 28, 1827 Micajah Blanchard m Leah Walton Oct 17, 1827 (2nd marriage ?????) Noah Blanchard m Mary Asbill on May 13, 1828 Grandchildren (????): Abner Blanchard m Mary Verdamin Dec 12, 1838 Eastern Blanchard m Absala White Oct 9, 1841 Jesse Blanchard m Eliz A. Blanchard Dec 17, 1841 I believe Sarah Jane Blanchard was the granddaughter of William since she was born abt 1831 and believe she was daughter of any of the sons: Micajah, Josiah, Reuben, Noah.
