This was from a Court held in Chowan Precinct , July 16, 1717 at the house of William Branch. "Benj. Foreman proved rights for importation of Benj. Foreman, Sr., Venity, William, Mary and Benjamin Foreman, Jr." I appreciate the hard work Mr. Hathaway did and his book brought much info to people who would not have had access to it. However, I have found that, as in all research, it pays to check the original record if possible or at least another source. There are omissions in some of the records and sometimes relationships are stated wrong, but the "gift horse" still has pretty teeth.
