    3. Hello, I need some input. Recently I posted a request for help to the list. I have been able, through subsequent research to refine my needs. I am a graduate student attending East Carolina University. Currently a group of us are researching a slave narrative written by one Allen Parker. He was owned by Peter Parker and his wife Elizabeth Skinner Parker. They lived in Chowan county. Peter bought land of his deceased father-in-law Henry Skinner in Perquimans county. Peter and two of his young children die in 1839 leaving his estate to be administered by his brother-in law James C. Skinner of Perquimans county. He had one very young daughter still living Annie Felicia. He left the slave Allen Parker to Annie in his will. I think, from my research that the Parker plantation was in the Ballards Bridge area of Chowan county, close to smalls crossroads. In 1850 it consisted of 300 acres or so. Elizabeth married Jonathan White abt.1846-7. She and Annie moved to Perquimans county to live on the Parker Plantation which Jonathan bought. As Allen got older he was hired out to various people in the Area. The names were...JACOB PARKER, ELISHA BURK, JOHN COFFIELD, _____ SMALL, DARIUS WHITE, GEORGE WILLIAMS. His father was owned by a WILLIAM ELLIOT and went by the name of JEFF ELLIOT. Allen says the ELLIOT plantation was about 10 miles from the PARKER plantation. I am in the process of collecting histories, stories of the people and the area, and mapping the neighborhood in which Allen Parker lived. Any help with these families..names would be appreciated. Oh..I am talking of the ante-bellum period...1800-1860. Thankyou, Theresa
