If not, if would you please place this on your Query Page and post it to your Chowan County Mailing List, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. I am trying to find various land grants issued to early White settlers or deeds between the Native American residents and the early White settlers. For instance, I have found that on 24 Sept 1660 Nathaniel Batts purchased from Kiscutanewh, King of the Yeopim Indians, all the land on the west bank of the Pasquotank River from its mouth to the head of New Begin Creek. Batts also held land in Chowan Precinct on which he lived for a time [Salmon Creek ares]. Would you happen to have copies of any early deeds / grants concerning the Chowan, Yeopim or other Native Americans lands in northeastern North Carolina? If so, I would appreciate receiving a copy of such documents. Your assistance is appreciated.
