It is known that Esther Luten was the wife of Robert Hicks. Esther was the daughter of Thomas & Mary Luten. Robert Hicks died about 1738 in Chowan Co. There were 2 surviving children of the Luten/Hicks marriage: Mary Hicks married Daniel Halsey Thomas Hicks b abt 1709/10 near Edenton, Chowan Co., NC died abt 1775 Wyliesburg, Charlotte Co.
