    3. Sorry, Bob, my ELIZABETH FAIR was the daughter of ARCHIBALD FAIR who lived in the Hot House District of Cherokee County from about the mid-1830s to the 1860s before moving over to Monroe County, TN. She was born in Cherokee about 1840 and was gone from ARCHIBALD's home by 1860. A clue to her possible marriage partner came recently when I found an ELIZABETH RAPER (60) in the 1900 Cherokee Census boarding in the home of the DANIEL LOUDERMILK family along with AUSTIN FARE (FAIR) who was ARCHIBALD's youngest (and somewhat retarded son). AUSTIN was in Monroe County in 1870 and 1880 in the home of his parents. Their mother's census name was Holly "L" which may explain the LOUDERMILK connection which goes back into Burke County, NC where ARCH was born. As indicated in my initial posting, the 1870 Cherokee Census reflected an ELIZABETH being married to a WILLIAM RAPER. Her indicated age of 35 was "close enough" for speculation. I have no info that suggests she moved to Monroe County with (or after) her parents although her older brother, ELIJAH, did so.
