CAT, people living on that side of Polk (Ducktown, Copperhill, Turtletown--near Murphy) could record deeds, etc., at the courthouse in Murphy, since it was easier to get to Murphy than Benton. That is one of the few areas in the country that it was (is) allowed. So, the property was most probably in Polk, especially since she filed for damage in TN.
