This is my first posting so hope I don't make too many boo-boo's. I am looking for any info on Williamn Buce 1798/1800 born in SC (possibly NC) and his spouse Pernina Samson 1798/1800 born in Sampson Cty, NC. On the 1850 Cherokee Cty census three children are listed - Elizabeth 17, Mahaly 13 and William R. 10. On the 1860 census Mahaly is listed as Mahaly Burns with a 1 year old Henry. William R and Mahaly are listed as being born in Haywood Cty. Next to the Buce listing is W R and Elizabeth Standridge 26, born in Haywood Cty so I wonder if this could be Elizabeth Buce. In 1853 William acquired 100 acres on Persimmon Creek and in 1856 100 acres on Shoal Creek. The 1870 census listes the PO as Wolf Creek, Hothouse TWP. The 1880 census has William living with his son William R at the same place. So William died from 1880 on and Pernina died between 1870 and 1880. I wonder if anyone might have information on the cemeteries in the area or ANY INFO. I have been researching this family for several years but haven't been able to go back any further.
