Hi, I have been researching my Deaver roots from NC for some time now. While most of my research has been in Buncombe and Haywood Counties, I know some of my ancestors were born in Murphy (Cherokee County). From what I understand, Nathaniel Deaver may have been born there in 1807. I am more certain about some of his children (wife Adriah Dyer) being born there: Richard Albert Deaver (abt 1828) William Jasper Deaver (July 1833) Levi Deaver (abt 1836) Ruben L. Deaver (1838) Roland Nathaniel Deaver (1843) Archiball Singleton Deaver (1847) I have seen reference to other Deaver branches living there, like Frances Arabella Deaver (1807-1875), who married Thomas Jefferson Cooper and had kids there.
