Jonathan Hampton born 1829. Son of Tillman and unknown. He married Mary Emaline Sneed in 1853. Jonathan enlisted in the Army June 1862 and died on Mar 1865 from the battle of Lookout Mountain, Tenn. in the Civil War. He had Mary Dovie Susan Hampton (my husband's gggrandma), Nancy, Harriet and John Hampton born May 1864. I have an Indian Roll of Johnathan Charles Hampton born 1862 who's father died in Apr 1865. But his wife was Pa--- Age 37 and his mom was Hannah Mont---- and father John Hampton. Trying to piece the Jonathans. Now, Tillman should have been born about 1800 but in Dockerys of Dixie, Tillman is born 1824. Could this Tillman be the brother to Jonathan and Tillman's other son? Any help would be appreciated. I would eventually get the names and end up with our generation. Thanks Ruth

My mother has the name of elizabeth breuer, we are not sure if that was her name prior to marriage or not, I am working on finding that out. Thank you very much for your help, anything I can find out would be great. As I said we know she was in Kentucky (hazard we think) my grandmother and grandfather have passed away and we have to find someone that has more information for us. Thank you again Louise

There are some other resources that might help you, however: Take a look at the Qualla Boundary page for NCGenWeb: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Olympus/7525/cherokee/ This is the Cherokee reservation in western NC. Even if your ancestor wasn't from the reservation area, there are quite a few other links on this page to Native American research sites. Also check out: http://www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/ If you click on the Ethnic Groups link at the top right of this page, you'll get a page that includes two lists on the Cherokees, one on general history and culture and the other more focused on genealogy. I received an email from Louise and tried to answer her, but I was told her name doesn't exist. Hopefully, she will try again. My name is Kay. :)
Hi Louise, I certainly understand how frustrating this can all be. I think the best information I can give you is to post, post, post on every genealogy bulletin board you can find. I searched until I began to think, I must be the dumbest person in the world, because I couldn't even find myself out there. It wasn't until I started posting my info, that I began to get results. Try it and good luck. You didn't tell me your g grand mother name, was it HAWK? I'll be glad to share any information that will help you. Sincerely, Kay
Hello Louise, What is the name of your Great-Grandmother - Last Name? I will be glad to help you look. Good Luck Joe

Hi All -- After working several 98+ hour weeks, I've been cut late last week back to 40 hours (No, I'm not sad, except that the Overtime is back, I'm going in again in the morning :^( ). The point of this is that I've pretty much got my inbox down to a reason number, updated the surnames listings and transcribed a few more files. The Death Records for D surnames and G surnames. I've been able to add a couple of small cemeteries from fellow researchers (thank you, thank you). I will continue to transcribe as time permits, I will be taking some time off for Halloween (one of my favorite activities), I have to create a few new tombstones this weekend, put back together our grim reaper and file a couple of sound files of creatures in the bushes. Most of my other plans for Halloween have been put on hold due to lack of time (yes, I start planning how to decorate our yard in July, as we try to add one large project piece per year. 1997 was the Animated Grim Reaper 1998 was the cemetery fence 1999 has ended up being the fog machine and fog cooler (it makes the fog hug the ground) Yes, I know I'm warped, it's from lack of sleep. In any case, if you have anything to add to the site, I gladly accept all submissions (you retain rights to the material) and will post them as soon as I can. Has anyone run across a Pauline Oller or a Pearl Oller in thier search?
