    1. [NCCHEROK] Conley/Connelly Family
    2. I'm researching a Connelly/Conley family that might have come from Cherokee. My Grandmother is 94 and tells the story that her Grandfather "walked over the mountain" into Fannin County, GA. The only thing I know about John M. Conley is he was born in 1850 in NC and his mother, Elizabeth was living with his family in GA in the 1880 Fannin County census. So his father must have been dead by then. He married Nancy Watkins, who was born in GA. They had 13 children. The male children's names were William Lemuel Conley, John Littleton Conley, And George Washington Conley. Thanks in advance for any and all help. Linda Atkins

    1. [NCCHEROK] Early Sweeney family of NC
    2. Barry Fox
    3. I am trying to locate ancestors of Elizabeth M SWEENEY. According to the 1910 TX census, she was born about 1857 in NC. She married William H LEONARD 8/20/1876. According to the 1860 NC census index, there were only two Sweeney households in NC at the time (Elizabeth would have been 3). One of the households was James H SWEENEY in Cherokee county (page 464). Does anyone have the actual census record to see if this is the family of Elizabeth? Thanks for your help. Barry Fox Greenville, SC

    2. David, No help from me on your question below. Just thought I'd ask if you had run across any Parkers's with a daughter named Ferby/Feraby/Phoebe? She married Henry Dukes in 1802 in Orange Co. NC and moved to TN around 1825. Just a long shot, you know how we genealogists grasp at any straws! 1. [NCCHEROK] inventory & estate sales uploaded
    2. Shane S.Ratledge
    3. Have you ever wondered what an estate sale and auction would have been like in SE TN in the 1880s? Are you curious to see the inventory of a farm and a household in neighboring Monroe County, TN in 1888? Did your ancestors attend the sale at the old farmhouse in the nearby mountains, bid on some items, and become listed as buyers? If yes to any of these questions, then this link is FOR YOU! I've just typed and uploaded a new link to my website "Kinfolks in the Knobs." It's "The Inventory and Estate Sale of David and Adeline (Caldwell) Cunningham" from Monroe CO, TN Chancery Court Records of 1888 - 1890. I transcribed it from microfilmed records in 1985. The link may be accessed from the index page by clicking on "The Old Home Places (Surnames A - L);" then from that link, click on David & Adeline (Caldwell) Cunningham. Also, you can simply copy and paste the direct address below into the go box. The URL is http://www.genweb.net/kinfolksintheknobs/cunnestate.html Also, three additional family groups have been added to "The Old Home Places" link. If you can help to decipher any of the illegible words listed, please email me. Hope you'll read with a thimbleful of imagination and enjoy it as much as I do! Sandra Ratledge
