The Barringer family history is on the internet. Good luck. General Rufus barringer iis a nephew of the Bushart lady married to a Mathius barringer., Revolutionary War. This General has an outstanding record in the Civil War and was the only Confederate General that was known by Lincoln. They were aquaintences of a prison visit by Lincoln and Lincoln had his card in his pocket when he was assassinated. General Barringer was almost hung by the crowd after the assassination as they thought he was part of the assassination. he was saved by Union troops at the prison.
