    3. The old fair grounds were where the present day Hickory High School stands in the Viewmont area. I believe the stock sale was at the same place every Thursday. It was later relocated to the Sweetwater Road (now Lowes). Daddy used to take me with him and I remember people selling things out of their car trunks. That was before the days of "Flea Markets".
