If anyone is going to the Catawba County Courthouse to do research would you mind looking in the will book to see if my grandfather had a will. His name was John Vernon Abernethy (could be Abernathy). He died September 11, 1961, in Winston Salem, NC but was from Newton, NC. He was born October 13, 1905. He was buried at Eastview Cemetery. Willis Reynolds was the funeral home. I have already sent to the state archives for his estate papers but they have no record of his estate being probated. His second wife, Stella, outlived him.
