Seeking anything on Marcus E. LOWRANCE , s/o Hiram A. LOWRANCE and Martha T. Abernathy. Stone at Eastview Cemetery, Newton gives dates of 16 Jul 1836 - 22 Jul 1904. He has a CSA cross on his grave but I can not find anything to indicate his CSA service. Can anyone help? --Derick
I checked the book "The Catawba Soldier of the Civil War", it pretty much lists everybody who was in the Civil War from Catawba County. I found no mention of Marcus Lowrance, that is not to say he didn't serve. It's perhaps likely his name was missed. The County Library just of the Square has a book that lists everybody who was in the war. Check it to make sure.
