She married Calvin Hart in 1897 in the same county. She lists no father on the marriage certificate, but her Mother's name was Elizabeth. Does this name mean anything to anyone? She died young around 1903-and was the mother of 3 children. They were living in the Startown area in 1900. I could sure use some help with this one. The only Mary I can find in 1880 was a daughter of Taylor Poovey. Can anyone help? Thank You

Only DNA from the Y-chromosome will be tested and as such, only males who are directly descended (or believed to be descended) from the HERRING family name should apply. This also includes spelling variants of the surname such as Herren, Hearing, Harring, Herrin, etc. If you are a female researcher, you can participate indirectly if you have a brother, father, paternal uncle, or male cousin with the HERRING or variant surname who is willing to submit a DNA sample. Others may participate by sharing the cost of the HERRING surname DNA testing. Because we are acting as a Surname Project, we qualify for discounted testing rates.
