    1. apoplexy
    2. Thanks to all for the help with what I now know should be apoplexy instead of phoplexy. I imagine that whomever wrote the death certificate put down what he or she thought they heard and Dr. Klutz signed the form without reviewing the spelling. Henry Jaconias was 86 years 1 month and 14 days old when he died in 1932 so he lived a long life for that time period. My father, Glenn, his great grandson only lived to be 53 but one of daddy's brothers is still going strong in his 80's so it's hard to tell what kept some of the family going and some not. This was my first visit to the Deed office in Newton. I don't know why I hadn't gone there before but I live and learn. One hour just isn't enough time to research anything! Thanks again for the help. Cynthia

    1. Medical Term
    2. Has anyone come across the word PHOPLEXY in their research of death certificates? I found this word on my great-great grandfather's death certificate dated March 9, 1932. My gggrandfather was Henry Jaconias Bolick. His doctor was W. F. Klutz of Maiden. There was no autopsy. Whatever this ailment was the certificate stated that it started in 1928. Dr. Klutz attended to him from 1928-1932. I've looked in medical dictionaries both modern and archaic, and I've done a Google search. Thanks for any help anyone can give. Cynthia Bolick Gilbert

Surnames: Schmidt/Smith/Hunsucker/Bolch Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SSB.2ACE/2235 Message Board Post: I see on the Catawba site there is reference to descendants of George Adam Smith. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of these records? http://www.rootsweb.com/~nccatawb/indexcc.txt George Adam Smith (From Mid 1700s) Descendants 10-1 13 I have reason to believe I descend from this family through their son John Smith who married Catherine Mauser for several reasons. First of all I descend through Johannes Hunsucker "John" and his SMITH wife. Their dtr Sarah Hunsucker is my 3rd great grandmother who married Henry Bolch. They also had a daughter Susannah Hunsucker who married 1st Henry Hoke. Henry died around 1839/1840 and Susannah had 4 Hoke boys; Elkanah, Monroe, George and John David Hoke. All of these boys are living with different people 1850. John David Hoke is residing with Frederick Smith and Angline Sigman 1850. Susannah remarried 1849 to Jacob Moser and moved over to Alexander Co North Carolina. She had two children with Jacob Moser, Jacob 1850 and BARBARA ANN MOSER 1854. I believe my John Hunsucker was dead bet 1828/1830 and his Smith wife 1820/1823 as he marries a 2nd time to Polly Sigman 1824. By the time John Smith dies in 1847 all of John Hunsucker's children are grown and he and his wife are dead, and good reason not to name her in his will. I believe that my SMITH grandmother's name may have been BARBARA ANN SMITH, daughter of John Smith and Catherine Mauser. I have found the name Barbara quite prevalent in these Smith families and if what I believe to be true, Barbara's sister Mary Magadlene Smith and Daniel Fry are living in Alexander Co Nc over by Susannah Hunsucker Hoke Moser. I believe that Susannah Hunsucker's uncle was Frederick Smith and the reason her son John David Hoke is living with Frederick in 1850. Also in the will of Johann Adam Bolch he mentions these Schmidt families and they are always living around the Hunsucker's. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/2953/will.html Will of Johann Adam Bolick/Bolch I give and bequeath unto my son Sebastian, all that portion or parcel of land lying and situate on the Western or Northern side of Lyle's creek, adjoin the land of George Adam Schmitt and on other track of my own land, being part of a large tract that I bought of Henry Schmitt by virtue of Royal Grant (Patent) bearing date of Twenty First of July 1774 as the said patent will more fully and clearly appear, to have and to hold the said tract on said creek, which shall set a limit between him and his brother Jasper (Casper) unto my son Sebastian Bolch his heirs, executors, and assigns forever; and further, I give and bequeath unto my sone Jasper all the remainder of the said described tract I bought of the aforesaid Henry Schmitt that is situated in the Eastern or South side of said Lyle's creek which shall set limits between him and his brother, Sebastian, adjoiningPhilip Adam and Philip Giger, to have and to hold the said tract being part of the aforesaid larger tract unto the said Jasper Bolch and his heirs, executors and assigns forever. There is also a confirmation in St John's Lutheran church, but I don't know the parents Confirmation List St John's Lutheran Church, Lincoln Co North Carolina 18 Aug 1804 Barbara Schmit does anyone have any information on this Barbara Schmit parents?
