Mr. Floyd, First, Let me tell you that my husband is a decendant of the Gettys family. We were at the reunion a couple weeks ago and I talked to your sister. She was telling me that you were her brother. I'm wanting to do some research on my family and somehow I've lost all my programs (roots, Ancestry, gen and several others) I was wondering if you could email me some of those programs. My step-son had emailed me the ones I had, but when I went to those links they wont load. Thank you Becky Murray ----- Original Message ----- From: "W. D. Most folks on these list know Monte & Noma Wike and their contribution to Catawba Valley genealogy. Monte has been laid low recently. I am passing on news of his situation from his daughter, Sarah. --Derick At 10:32 AM 10/17/2005, you wrote: >Dearest Family and Friends, > >This is Sarah Campbell, youngest daughter of Monte & Noma Wike and I am >writing on behalf of dad. Hi! My name is Steven Ashabraner. Please take a look at my research blog, "Descendants of Urban Aschenbrenner". This blog will be dedicated to the genealogical research of the Descendants of Urban ASCHENBRENNER. I hope to explore my research notes and expand on ideas of how this family may have lived. Hopefully, you like it and have some time to follow along as I introduce the research that I had compiled since 1989. I welcome other researchers in unpuzzling the mysteries of this family and many others. This project will take some time to transform into a blog format so please check back regularly. I hope not to disappoint. Title: Descendants of Urban Aschenbrenner Address: http://ashabraner.blogspot.com/ E-Mail: steven_ashabraner@cox.net Thank You, Steven Ashabraner

The following is a response being sent to those who have submitted articles for the Lincoln County Heritage and those who have mailed payment for the book: If you sent payment for a copy of the book any time during the past two years you will receive it upon completion. This book is not a completely different publication from the second volume of the heritage book. It carries a different name and is actually designed in a more up-to-date, aesthetically pleasing fashion. If you take a look at the website that the publisher has created for the project you will see some of the sample articles. http://www.legacyeditions.com/olc/pub/KQK/homepage.cgi Please submit more articles if you can. The FINAL deadline if January 1, 2006. There will be no more extensions after January 1. Please send your articles to LCHA, 403 East Main Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092. If you have any more questions, please let me know. Thanks, Jason L. I just recieved a message that all the stories from the Hertiage Book project will be carried over to this book. The message came from Sarah Dorman.
Dear Lincoln friends, Some time ago, the folks in Lincoln County announced that a second edition of the "Heritage of Lincoln County" was planned. For whatever reason, not enough interest was generated and few submissions were made. The Lincoln County Historical Association has revived the effort and has given a new face to the effort. While this publication is not, strictly speaking, a Heritage book, the effort will result in a book that will be a real treasure. Everyone with an interest in this book is invited to visit the Lincoln County web site [ http://www.rootsweb.com/~nclincol/index.htm] for more information. or go directly to the "In Our Own Words: The Story of Lincoln County" site: http://www.legacyeditions.com/olc/pub/KQK/homepage.cgi. --Derick S. I am trying to sort out the different Spencer families in Catawba County. I recently visited N.C. and took lots of cemetery pictures of Spencer stones. I am working on the Benjamin Spencer Sr. and Benjamin Spencer Jr. lines who married Susannah Rinck, in Lincoln Co. N.C. /Catawba County, N.C. their children were. Grissom Spencer who married Mary Ann or Anna Herman and their related lines. Eli Anthony Spencer married Loucinda Mouser and their related lines. A few members of these lines were in Alexander Co. N.C. Searching for info on the following families. This is most of the ones I can't connect with the rest of the line. Would love to share anything with you in exchange for info on the following lines: 1.Albert W. Spencer wife Frances Aileen Wagner family. Did they have any children and if so who were they? 2.William A. Spencer son of John Pinkney Spencer line.Who did he marry and did he have any children? 3.Anyone with any knowledge of who Elmer Spencer age 24 in the 1930 census, wife Clara, daughter Margarete belongs to. 4. Ralph Spencer age 25 in the 1930 census wife Eva daughter Coleene? age 2 months. Belongs to? 5. Ervin J. Spencer age 53 the census states he was born in S. C. how is he connected to the other Catawba Co. lines? wife Flora C. , Eula F. daugher, Willie E. and Thomas A. Not sure this one fits into the line at all? 6. Abraham Spencer age 26 Florence wife 24 Adam Jr. Bonnie age 1 7. Milton S. Spencer Ella wife, Greggory, and mother in law was a Groffery/Griffeny hard to read. 8. George Spencer wife Ivey, son Vernon, Albert and George Jr. 9. Dalis F. Spencer son Dick O. , Alivia S. daughter, Grover G. son, Grace E. daughter and son Dalis Jr. Thank you for any and all help on the Spencers.

Jarrett B. 1791 & Elizabeth Hildebrand B. 1794 line could help me? I am trying to research their youngest daughter an Elizabeth C. Jarrett B. abt. 1839. I have no proof, but I think this is my GG Grandmother, Caroline Jarrett Garland Wilson B. 14 Feb 1838 D. 06 Jan 1906. On the 1850 census for Yancey Co., NC I found a John (59 yrs) & Elizabeth Jarrett (52 yrs) with a daughter Elizabeth C. Jarrett (11 yrs). On the 1860 census in Yancey Co. only John & Elizabeth are in the household, all the children have moved out. On the same census an Isaac Garland is with a Caroline Garland (21 yrs) and a son Charles Garland (1 yrs). Isaac Harvey Garland, Caroline's first husband was killed during the civil war. On the 1870 census for Yancey Co. Caroline Garland is listed only with her children. But nearby a Daniel E. Jarrett and wife Docia are listed and so is an Eli Jarrett with wife Catherine. Elizabeth C. Jarrett had brothers named Danie! l Elisha Jarrett who married Caroline Theodosia "Dosia" Honeycutt and Eli Marcus Jarrett married Catherine Baker. I believe Elizabeth C. Jarrett is Elizabeth Caroline Jarrett or Caroline Jarrett, going by her middle name. I just can not confirm this. Would you know of any Jarrett's that could help? I have seen information that says this family was from Lincoln, NC and all John & Elizabeth's children were born in Lincoln Co. NC It appears at least the first 5 were baptized at a church called Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hickory, NC. Daniel E. & Elizabeth C. did not have a batism record there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Roby Wilson roby@erols.com
In the Hickory paper before 1910 was an article about W.S. Will Stroup, he was married to one of Jule Pooveys Daughters. they took in Two of my Rink line because the sisters were very elderly and had no cash to speak of, so if they signed over their land to him he would take care of them until they died. Which they did and Mr. Stroup kept his word. Mr. and Mrs. Robey Poovey ended up with the Rink sisters belongings which were very fine beds and dust ruffles as well as old German Almanacs. I am not trying to lay any claim to these articles that belonged to my family but I would love to have pictures of any of the things that still exist. This would mean so very much to me and my family. I visited Germany about 5 years ago and found where they came from in 1776. If you are a member of this Poovey line and know of these articles I would love to talk with you and see if I could get pictures of any of the articles that belonged to Amy and Sivila Rink. Thanks to any of these Poove! y lines for any information on this subject. Mary Rink Harbinson Richland, Washinton

McIntosh and under that is Hickory, NC. Since it's stamped on the front like that I assume that A. McIntosh was the photographer. From study info about old photos I'd guess this photo made mid 1870's........................................will try to attach my photo for you to view. Mine is just a copy of the original and since I enlarged to get more man I don't have all the info in the bottom corner. Don't you think that these 2 men look like father & son?
