In application for Revolutionary War widow's pension (NC R#135), Mary/Polly filed an affidavit in Harrison County, Indiana, in 1843, stating the family had moved to Indiana in 1813. Others who gave affidavits in Harrison County in 1843, stating they had known John and Mary ALLEN in North Carolina, were: John JOHNSON/JOHNSTON; John SMITH; Lucretia FOOTE; Hezekiah ALLEN. Died bef 25 Mar 1854 Harrison County, Indiana Three Known Children: Sally ALLEN Born 1794 North Carolina Died bef 1860 Harrison County, Indiana Married Joseph WRIGHT, 20 Oct 1814, Harrison County, Indiana Nancy ALLEN Born 1802 North Carolina Died 25 May 1888 Corydon, Harrison County, Indiana Married Francis WRIGHT 15 May 1820, Harrison County, Indiana John ALLEN Jr. A Valentine ALLEN is also linked to the family by a marriage bond in Harrison County.
