I would love to hear from anyone researching the early BROWN families of Caswell County, NC. My ancestor Leonard Brown moved to Caswell probably around 1764. He married Sarah Kimbrough, daughter of Thomas and Eleanor Graves Kimbrough. I believe they married in Orange County, VA and probably had at least their first child, Eleanor Brown who married William Dorris, Jr., in Virginia. Leonard got his land grant in 1778 on the South Fork of Country Line Creek. Adjacent to his land on the west a William Brown received a land grant for 500 acres. This Wm. Brown appears to have been a Cooper. I've not been able to determine the relationship between Leonard and William. Then, in 1787 another William Brown received a land grant for 504 acres just to the south of the first William Brown. The land owners around Leonard and the two William Brown were Basil Davis, Luke Pendergast, William Rice, John Rice, Henry Williams, Hudson Berry, and Morton (first name unknown). Finally, does anyone have a good old map that tells the location of the following: Stoney Creek, Shaw's Creek, Tom's Creek, and Moon's Creek?
