That would explain a lot of the wandering ways of some of his offspring and the difficulty this adds in tracing them. I descend from Benjamin Willis, Sr. whom I believe is Henry's son. Apparently these guys all named their sons and their nephews after their brothers and fathers, to the point it's hard to differentiate except by date. In the 1800 Rutherford Co. census there are only household heads names and age ranges for others in the household; but Henry is there, I think, with a female who is, like him, in the 45+ range, and two other females (I'm assuming daughters) in the 16-25 range. That's his whole household. But there are several other men with young families nearby, some of whom have to be his sons. My Benjamin is there, along with James, John, David, Joseph, Stephen, and Peter. Peter isn't a given name that comes down in the lines I'm familiar with, so I'm not sure he's! part of that clan. Any ideas on these others?
