    3. I am trying to plot land records from the later 1700's and early 1800's in Caswell County. Many deeds mention Hillsborough Road and Jourdans Creek. A 1799 deed mentions Stoney Creek and Hillsborough Road. A 1809 deed mentions Tom's Creek and Hillsborough Road. A 1855 deed mentions Jordans Creek and both sides of the road from Yanceyville to Hillsboro. On the G. P. Stout map of 1977 depicting Caswell County in 1777 he shows Jordan's Creek in the southern county flowing into Orange County (present day Alamance), I believe that creek is today called Hughes Mill Creek, but he doesn't show any road nearby. Would this be the same Jordan's [Jourdan's, Jurdan's] Creek mentioned in the early deeds? What present day road would be representative of the Hillsborough Road(s) mentioned in those deeds? Is there a better map source to locate the early creeks and roads? Thank you.
