The story told by the grand daughter of Whitfield Taylor. They left North Carolina in an ox wagon & on the day that Grandpa (Whitfield Taylor) turned four years old, they camped on top of the Cumberland Mountains, They went from NC to TN & from TN to Stoddard CO MO. she said her Father Lee Taylor was born in Stoddard CO Mo. & from Mo to AR, End of Story. Whitfield Taylor was born April 5th 1824 Nc. Then they camped on top of the cumberland mountains on 5th of April 1828, On Nov 22th 1828 William H Taylor (Whitfields brother) was born somewhere in TN. The mother of Whitfield & William Taylor is Agness "Agnus"?,b, 1784-86. maiden name unknown. The husband of Agness is unknown. I believe there were other children That left NC with them besides Whitfield , but they were married before 1840, This is the year that Agnus Taylor, head of house shows up with two young Males. in Weakley Co TN, Ages fits Whitfield & William. I have not located this family in the 1830 census of Tn. I am sure the year of 1830 would reveal much. Any help would be great Hershel Taylor
