Searching for the parents of my Great Grandfather, Whitfield Taylor,b, April 5th 1824 in Nc & died August 27th 1907 in Sharp Co Ar. The mother of Whitfield was Agness ? born 1784 in Nc & died in Weakley Co Tn . Agness was shown living with her son William H Taylor & wife Lucinda C "Dortch" Taylor in the 1850 Weakley Co Tn Census. she must have died between 1850 & 1860. I don't know the maiden name of Agness but I wonder if it may be Whitfield, since it is a surname & she named her son Whitfield, Neither do I know the name of the husband of Agness. Agness & unknown Taylor must have married in the early 1800's some where in Nc. & since there are Whitfields & Satterfields & Taylors in Both Caswell & persons Co's I feel that this may be the right place. Whitfield Taylor married Naomi "Namey" Gains in Weakley Co Tn. Naomi was a daughter of Francis & charlotte "Satterfield"Gains. I Would be thankful for any help. Thanks Hershel Taylor
