    3. Hi Jenny, Let's see what names we have in common. I noticed you mentioned the name Richmond in an earlier post and that is the family that brought me to Sumner. In reading through the Caswell Co. estate file for Joshua Richmond (1806) I found a letter from his brother, William Richmond (who was the administrator) to their sister, Margaret. She had married a John Boren and was living on Sulphur Lick Fork on Drake's Creek in Sumner Co. I have corresponded with several Boren researchers but we can't figure out who this is. There are a couple of John Borens on Drake's Creek but none of them appears to have a wife named Margaret during this time period. Still a mystery to clear up. The other name I've been working on is Noel. Edward Noel died in Caswell Co. in 1802 and his widow, Susannah "Sukey" Kimbrough Noel, moved to Sumner Co. with several of her children soon after. Her sister, Sarah Kimbrough (married to Leonard Brown), moved there too along with other related families (Dorris). Susannah Noel inherited a life interest in some land in Caswell and in 5 slaves. There are quite a few lawsuits in the Sumner Co. archives concerning this inheritance (over 100 pages) which provide a great deal of detail about the children of Edward and Susannah Kimbrough Noel. There are estate files for some of these children, as well. Ann Greer/Grier is here too with her children. She must have remarried to a Motherall because several of her children have that name. There is a will for her and many deeds. Mary EddNick@aol.com wrote: > Mary, > > Wow! I recognize so many of those names! Am related to a few by > ancestral marriages. I think we're on to something.
