    3. Bill and everyone in Caswell, That Joseph TAYLOR listed as a witness to the 1788 LEE-McNEILL Deed of Gift was actually my own Joseph TRAYLOR. (There were no TAYLOR listings in 1784 in Caswell, only my Joseph TRAYLOR---recorded in 1784 as TRAYLOR and in 1790 as Joseph TAYLOR. [Thanks for additional record!]) :-) I have two sets (possibly more) of families from the Spotsylvania/Orange/Culpeper area of Virginia that moved to two different locations in NC---one set that moved from there to Orange/Caswell, NC, and another that moved from there to Surry/Wilkes, NC. Some of the families in each set had intermarried, while others who may or may not have been related at least knew each other, given their proximity to each other in Virginia. ( I also know of at least one man listed in an Orange, VA deed as moving to North Carolina [Charles STEVENS, who died in Caswell. Anyone have records for him in NC?]) I know he died there, but have no details of his will, which probably relate back to VA... The Orange, VA to Orange/Caswell, NC group of my own that I am currently aware of was my Dunkin/ Duncan BOHANNON/BOHANON/BOHANIN (III), whose apparent 2nd wife was Susanna MAY, who seems to have been a dau. of John MAY of Caroline Co., VA. (Duncan's first wife apprears to have been a BAYLOR, dau. of John II.) This family was also recorded as: BUCHANON, BUCKHANNON, BUCHANNON. My Joseph Traylor's surname switched back and forth between TRAYLOR and TAYLOR in all of the records I have of him during his lifetime (his estate, recorded in Brunswick Co., VA, 1794 is TRAYLOR in the probate records---listed as TAYLOR in Virginia Wills and Administrations.) Joseph was first recorded in Lunenburg Co., VA in 1772; he had at least 6 children, but died, place unknown, in 1794. I know that he was in Caswell 1784-1790, and that he died in 1794. But I do NOT know exactly where he died---it does not appear to have been in either Brunswick, VA or in Caswell or Person County, NC. Any help ANY person may give will be greatly appeciated. Thanks, everyone! 3. Pam, Long time no hear... I have no other TRAYLOR/TAYLOR record. However, I'm intersted in who you have from Spotsylvania et al...re: "I have two sets (possibly more) of families from the Spotsylvania/Orange/Culpeper area of Virginia that moved to two different locations in NC---one set that moved from there to Orange/Caswell, NC,...." I'm finding GREENs, HENDERSONs and other allied families that married LEA...interconnected. I'm closing in on my Andrew CADDEL's roots in VA. He prob was indentured in the Hanover/Spotsylvania area after he came over from Scotland in c1746, witness deed in 1751 Spotsylvania, SCC/surveys in 1754 in Orange Co., NC w/LEA group. He married a Jean Henderson (c1765) and several of his children married GREEN. It's obvious that Andrew CADDEL, his wife Jean HENDERSON and his children was very closely allied with the LEA. 3. Hi, Bill, I come from the Andrew Caddel and Jean Henderson lineage, also. Mitchell's were also in Person, Caswell area. Henry Mitchell married Nancy Carnal about 1780. I believe Henry Mitchell may have been a son of Robert Mitchell who married Ann Lea. I am not positive, but I am sure they were related as Henry helped with the selling of Arthur Mitchell's land and Arthur was a son of Robert and Ann. I have been told that Patrick Carnal's wife was Mary Caddel. They lived in Caswell county, NC. This couple is Nancy Carnal's parents. Just thought I would add to the conversation! Linda Franks
