John Day born in the 1720's has a will in Martin County 1795; codicil 1797. His sons mentioned are Edmond b before 1755; William b1755-65; Willis b. 1774-84. Daughters are Mary Carter (wife of Benjamin) and Nanney (Nancey??). His sister ANN is mentioned and wife MOURNING. Dates are guesses based on other records. John is found earliest in the tax records of Northampton in 1743; Granville1755; Caswell 1777 and 1784. 1790 he is in the Martin Census and the three sons are all in Martin in the 1800 census. Edmond is found in Vance?, Warren and Franklin in 1771; Northampton in 1780. Tax lists. I do not know if all the John's mentioned or Edmonds are the same.
