However, Frankie's father was not William but John Lea (born 1735) and mother Winnifred (Rucker). This is the family who owned Kunta Kinta of "Roots" fame. They came to Caswell County in 1752 from Spotsylvania County, Virginia. In the 1780's Frankie and John Jessee moved to Russell County, Viriginia.
Any relation here to Isabella Lea, born September 1728 in Virginia, who married John Graves about 1753 in Orange County, North Carolina and had as one of their children General & US Senator Azariah Graves? John & Isabella were my 6 great-grandparents; Azariah and wife Elizabeth Williams were my 5 great-grandparents.
